Frequently asked
Quick answers about listening, buying, subscribing, and selling on Siren.Audio. If you don't see what you're looking for, get in touch.
- Can I listen offline?
Not yet. Offline downloads are coming soon.
- How do credits work?
To unlock credits you must be a subscriber. Your membership grants them automatically, and members can buy extra credits any time. Not a member? You can still buy any title directly and own it forever.
Once a credit is yours it stays yours: redeem it for any single title regardless of price, credits never expire, and you don't need an active membership to spend ones you already hold.
- What's the difference between subscribing and buying individual titles?
You can do both! Subscribe for monthly credits, or buy any title outright, whichever you prefer. Everything you acquire, regardless of how you got it, stays in your library permanently.
- Can I gift an audiobook to a friend?
Yes. On any audiobook's page, choose Gift this audiobook, enter your recipient's email and an optional note, and pay. We email them a code they redeem at Account → Redeem to add it to their library.
- How do refunds work?
Within 90 days of purchase you can return an eligible title instantly. Eligible means you haven't downloaded it for offline listening and haven't listened to more than 3 hours of it. When you return one, its full purchase value lands in your Siren store credit right away (spendable on any title, and it never expires), and the title leaves your library. Routine returns are settled as store credit, not as money sent back to your original card.
It's a very generous policy, but the two limits are firm. A download means you already have the audiobook, and 3 hours is a lot of content, so you should know whether a title is for you by that point. We fully understand that an ending or a key moment may upset a listener, but that isn't a justification to return content you've already absorbed. We can't guarantee a perfectly written book; no distributor can.
Prefer the money back on your card? After returning an eligible title, ask for that from your credits page while the credit is unspent and an administrator will process it. Anything outside the policy is handled case by case: if you feel you have a genuine exception, reach out to customer service before filing a chargeback and we'll work something out.
- I'm an author, narrator, or publisher: how do I get my audiobooks on the platform?
Sign up as a creator (indie) or publisher (small press / imprint), verify your email, and you can start uploading. You'll connect payouts (bank + tax handled securely on Stripe) before earnings are released. Every title is reviewed before it goes live; the editor will flag missing pieces (chapters, cover, sample, description, rating) before you can submit.
- Where are you launching first?
Initial launch is United States only. Other countries follow once we have the licensing and tax handling sorted.
- What happens to my library if I cancel my subscription?
Everything you bought directly stays yours forever. Titles you acquired with credits also stay, because credits unlock permanent ownership rather than rental access. Credits never expire, and your books stay in your library even if they are no longer available for purchase. Only the monthly credit replenishment stops.
